Drystone
The Hillhouse Group currently has two operating quarries in Ayrshire.
Hillhouse Quarry, located at Troon, is one of the largest independent whinstone quarries in mainland Scotland. The high density and low drying shrinkage of the stone make it ideal for producing a wide range of quality aggregates for use in coated stone, concrete, blocks and general building materials.
Stone products available as standard at Hillhouse include the following:

Craigiehill Quarry, located at Craigiehill (to the south east of Kilmarnock), is a smaller unit specialising in quality type 1 and fill materials.
Hillhouse and Craigiehill Aggregate has been used extensively on prestigious projects undertaken in the Ayrshire area and has also been exported out of the area by sea via the nearby ports of Ayr and Troon.
Hillhouse operates its own fleet of Tippers so both delivered and collect sales are available from our Quarry locations.
